Bare Bones – Bike Rims
Probably the best way to think of bike rims is to consider them as the skeleton of the wheel – the piece that holds the wheel in place.
Carbon rims are becoming increasingly popular due to their lightweight but durable quality and as such, these are often preferred for road and track bike riders. Bikes that are going to naturally take more of a beating, such as BMX and mountain bikes, will usually opt for rims made from alloy or another material that is strong but light. Rims can be purchased as a bike accessory should you want to upgrade.
