Eddy Merckx Cycle Company was founded in 1980 by Eddy Merckx. Eddy Merckx is often cited as the greatest rider of the 20th century if not of all time. At the end of his cycling career Eddy Merckx setup Eddy Merckx Cycles in the back of a farmhouse, his aim was to produce the fastest bicycle on the market. Today the company philosophy has not changed, their aim is to produce the best cycles but also the safest cycles. The Eddy Merckx company is so confident in their safety standards that their bikes come with a lifetime warranty. Eddy Merckx still inputs into the bike designs today, often testing the bikes himself. Eddy Merckx Cycles predominantly specialise in high end road cycles.
